Uncommon Normal Gratitude Challenge 2021: All the Little Somethings
Join us November 1 for the gratitude challenge!
It’s been a weighty year and I’m learning to be kind to myself, and I hope you are too.
It’s OK to not do all the things.
To not keep up with everything.
To slow and savor and make the small moments matter most.
To give both yeses and nos with prayer and intention.
We are fast approaching November, the month of Thanksgiving, the month we seek to be intentional about gratitude. But maybe a gratitude challenge just feels like too much this year. Maybe it feels like another to-do, another thing you will not stick with and then feel bad about.
So this year, I wanted to continue The Uncommon Normal tradition of a November gratitude challenge but create it in a way that you can do as many or as few days as you’d like. I want it to feel light, because even the little things can be life-giving. I want it to unleash your imagination, because creativity can be healing. And I want it to be easy to engage in gratitude, because this giving of thanks changes us.
I’m calling it all the little somethings.
It’s the challenge that will be what you want to make of it.
One that I hope will gently gravitate your heart towards gratitude—because giving thanks for little things softens a heart, and soft heart is a welcome space for God to grow good things.
If this is your first year joining us for the gratitude challenge, here’s the lowdown:
- Save the gratitude prompt graphic to your device (scroll for the graphic in two size options)
- Participate (on any social media platform and as often or sporadic as you like) in the challenge either with a photo, written response, or both
- Use/follow the hashtags #uncommonnormalgratitude #allthelittlesomethings
- Invite a few friends to join you in the challenge
Here’s the square graphic for you:
And the story/phone wallpaper size one, if you prefer:
I can’t wait for you to join us November 1 to begin the gratitude challenge! And remember, if you are joining late or miss a few days, just jump in when you can!
Grace and blessings,
Twyla
P.S. Gratitude does not have to be limited to one month a year, and that’s why I started Begin Within: A Gratitude Series. If you’d like to cultivate an attitude of gratitude year-round, I invite you soak in the wisdom of others who are intentionally practicing gratitude and bravely sharing their stories with you. Let me know here if you’d like the weekly gratitude stories to land in your email inbox!
Change your actual life in less than 5 minutes per day!
You can change your actual life in less than 5 minutes a day because baby steps truly can change the trajectory of your life. If you want 2021 to be the year you actually start living on mission in your neighborhood, this little book (available as a paperback and on Kindle) will help you get there. Each of the 30-day devotions takes but a few minutes to read, but they will lead to lasting life change.
In case you missed it!
There are inspirational phone wallpapers now FREE to download in the FOR YOU library! Also in the library is a FREE download of a full week of Cultivating a Missional Life.
I consider it a high honor when you make space for my voice in your email inbox, and I promise to share openly from my heart as I continue learning myself more of what it means to live on mission in my neighborhood.
