#ReflectJesus Gratitude Challenge (6th annual November gratitude challenge hosted by Twyla Franz)

6th Annual Gratitude Challenge: #ReflectJesus

Such a joy to invite you to the 2024 November gratitude challenge!

This year we will look for ways we see Jesus reflected in other people. I’ll share a graphic each day on Instagram and Facebook with a specific characteristic of Jesus’s nature and invite you to tag, affirm, and encourage a friend who models it well. Then, you’ll take a moment to tell God thanks for that friend and how she inspires you to imitate Him.

Grab the prompts below and you’ll also get a short prayer in your inbox every day of the challenge, asking Jesus to help us mirror Him in these ways.

My Hope for This Challenge

While we’ll be tagging friends from any of our circles for this challenge, my prayer is that noticing where we see Jesus in others will help us

  • see where He’s at work in our neighbors’ lives
  • grow our gratitude for the unchanging nature of Jesus
  • encourage us to lean hard into Him
  • start a ripple effect of both gratitude and growth in Christ-likeness

My Wrestle With This Word

Reflect is my 2024 word of the year, and it’s been one of those chiseling, unearthing journeys. Last year, during the #ThankSomebody challenge, I realized how much easier it is to give—rather than receive—thanks, praise, encouragement, or affirmation. God kept messing with me over it, challenging me to reflect Him like a mirror instead of dismissing, deflecting, or spinning negative words meant in earnest to build me up.

As I shared my struggle, I realized it’s not just a me-struggle but one many of you relate to as well. (If that’s you, read “How to Accept Thanks When It Makes You Squirm” here.) I adopted the word REFLECT as my word of the year and wear it on a necklace (the pendant was made and gifted by my friend Sarah Frantz).

Prayers for You

Maybe your struggle with reflecting Jesus looks a bit different than mine. You might not squirm under attention but you doubt that you’re worthy or capable of mirroring Jesus to those around you. That’s why, as we look for and name the ways our friends model Christ-likeness, I want to pray for you and I, that we will have tender, moldable hearts and a growing desire to model our lives after Him. Still need the challenge prompts? Grab them via the button below and I’ll send a short prayer to your inbox each day of the challenge.
